We started with ISKCON
During a meeting with Sri Radhakrishna Prabhuji of ISKCON at Girgaon Chowpatty, he inquired if we could find a location in Mumbai to start a free food project similar to the one run by the Sikhs. I explained that finding a suitable place would be challenging and costly due to high rental prices. However, I suggested that we could utilize the expansive footpaths of Mumbai to distribute breakfast food packets to passersby. This idea was met with enthusiasm, and it provided us with the perfect opportunity to begin this project. Consequently, we initiated the distribution, ensuring that nutritious meals are available to those in need every morning.
Who started it?
Mr. Deepak Javeri, through his visionary efforts, built a Jain temple and established a trust that has become a beacon of hope and service to humanity. Initially focused on spiritual and religious pursuits, the trust expanded its mission to address various social and humanitarian needs. Under Mr. Javeri’s leadership, the trust has initiated numerous programs aimed at uplifting the less fortunate, providing education, healthcare, and essential resources to underserved communities. His dedication to service has transformed the trust into a vital organization, making a profound difference in the lives of many and exemplifying the true spirit of compassion and charity.
